Piccini: "The Leganés goal could have been avoided"
Cristiano Piccini spoke on behalf of the team after Valencia CF drew 1-1 with CD Leganés at Butarque, and explained how the players were feeling after the match.
"The dressing room is hurting, because we work to win. We've been struggling to do that since the start of the season; we've drawn a lot of games," he said.
"Leganés had a great game. They know what their playing style is and they do it very well. They pressured us in a second half in which we didn't have control of possession because of their pressing, in contrast to what we were able to do in the second half. The goal that they scored came from a chance that we could have avoided. We are hurt and the only thing we can do is work hard."
Piccini added that "We are annoyed, because we have a very strong squad, and many times we've drawn when we've deserved to win. However, if you win two in a row then you can be up there, so we have to work hard for that."
"The game coming up against Betis on Thursday is very important. We will be playing to reach a first final in 11 years, we're aware of that and we are prepared."
